Permalink | …whose obedience it was to nurse the sick, never went to sleep if any of the fathers were ill. He was entirely self-sacrificing in his care of his patients. Using his prayer rope, he prayed all night long, pacing up and down saying, “Lord, have mercy on your servant,” and “Holy Unmercenary Physicians, intercede for this servant of God.” He also went fishing for his patients, after which he would cook his catch for them in an attempt to help them become stronger and feel better.
